Bio
Ms. Erickson grew up in this small town of Pagosa and graduated from Pagosa Springs High School. In her spare time she really enjoys being outdoors - in any capacity - whether that’s snowboarding, hiking, wakeboarding, running, playing soccer, or adventuring. Ms. Erickson feels that Pagosa really is the best place to participate in the love of the outdoors. Growing up in a small town, she quickly discovered that smiles are contagious, and that you can make someone a little happier just by showing some teeth. Through the years she has discovered that a lot of that joy stemmed from interactions with our youth. Ms. Erickson gets a kick out of watching their young minds at work and seeing them make the connections in whatever they are doing. This, among other reasons is why she decided to pursue a career in Education. Ms. Erickson thinks when it comes to teaching, the biggest thing that makes a difference is genuinely caring for the students. Not just focusing on a letter or level connected to that student, but seeing them as capable to learn and providing the means to get there. Believing in students and challenging them to do their best develops that love of learning deeper.
