Bio
Mrs. Suchanek was born in Lakenheath, England and grew up on the East Coast in New York City and New Jersey before attending high school in Southern California. She was in college at Long Beach, California and studied geography and the environment. Becoming a teacher and supporting students to be their best became her passion when she began to work with non-verbal students with autism and then in a program for students with emotional disturbance. After student teaching , her dreams came true in her own classroom with middle school students making sure learning and fun could go hand in hand. Seeking adventure in the mountains, she moved to South Lake Tahoe and supported students with learning disabilities make progress in reading, math and writing while gaining social emotional health through the pandemic. Now in Pagosa Springs, she will continue her passion and use her background to help all. She lives with her husband, two rescue dogs: Zoey and Tucker and loves all things outdoors! You can see her hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, ice skating and once upon a time she played roller derby! watch out if she is on her skates !
