Bio
Ms. Hemenger was born and raised in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at the University of Colorado - Boulder, starting out as a pre-med student before ultimately deciding that she would rather have a career in teaching English. While working at the University, she took on the role of Resident Advisor for several dorm halls over the years. When Covid-19 struck her college campus hard, she made the decision to move back home to Pagosa to finish her degree, which she completed in December of 2020. Her father is a teacher at the high school, and has been extremely helpful in helping her navigate this new role as an educator, as have the other staff and students at PSMS. Ms. Hemenger loves working with students but she also enjoys reading, writing fantasy/horror stories, working with animals of all kinds, and hiking/camping around the area as there is always something beautiful to see in Pagosa. She looks forward to continuing on this journey of becoming an educator, and learning and growing alongside the students!
