Bio
Mrs. Wood is originally from Colorado. Most of her adult life, however, has been spent in the Albuquerque area and most recently, 5 years off-grid in the mountains between Albuquerque and Santa Fe with her husband, Richard, her son, Merrick, and numerous pets. She hopes her 3 adult daughters and her mom will be inspired to visit Pagosa often. In both undergrad and graduate education, Mrs. Wood pursued studying dance as a healing art. She ended up practicing the dance of family dynamics and helping children find their path of healing after severe trauma. As an educator, her husband encouraged her to become a school counselor. Impacting children’s lives in positive ways as a community, while honoring different expressions, has become her passion. Currently, she appreciates the autonomy of the small school district in Pagosa that greatly values active lifestyle and strong character, while in the pursuit of excellence in education. The beauty of the area, inspiring movement, is a huge bonus!
