Simone Mounsamy grew up in a small town outside of the big metroplex in North Texas. She enjoyed a competitive family and a wide variety of activities like volleyball, basketball, tennis, cheer and tumbling, theatre, photography, modeling, music, foreign language, art, caring for animals and babysitting. Simone attended acting school for musical theatre upon graduating high school. After acting school, she moved to Austin, Texas and took classes in Creative Writing at Austin Community College. She transferred to the University of Texas at Austin where she got her Bachelors of Arts in French. Simone has lived abroad in francophone countries, studying and working two internships in Paris, France during her undergraduate studies, and giving birth to her and her husband's first child in the French Caribbean. She has enjoyed raising her son and daughter in Pagosa Springs with her husband and worked as a reporter at the Pagosa Springs SUN prior to working for the school district. Simone has run three full marathons, still enjoys the same activities she always did, and likes to practice graphic art in her spare time.
