Bio
"The only difference between science and goofing-off is that in science you have to write it down." Mrs. Hinger
Mrs. Hinger, a native to Durango, CO, graduated from Durango High School with a deep love for medical sciences and physics. She taught high school English and biology in southwest Colorado before deciding to stay at home and raise a family. Mrs. Hinger's six children have taught her invaluable lessons in childhood development, learning styles and the value of students who "don't fit in the box." During this time, Mrs. Hinger worked as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor in pilates, step-aerobics, yoga and strength training.
Currently, Mrs. Hinger holds a professional teaching license in both secondary English and secondary science. Mrs. Hinger teaches 8th grade science, health, science electives and an awesome advisory hour or "Pirate Time."
Teaching Philosophy~
The aim of teaching science is clearly to provide students with tools for problem solving & analysis. However, discovering the fun and awe inspiring nature of science is a side-effect of the process.
